The Rainbow Care Centre (Charity Number SC 027182) was established in August 1990 to provide support to people over 50 years of age who reside in Greater Pollok, Newlands, Auldburn and Thornliebank.
In September 2001 the organisation extended their services by setting up a pilot befriending project which is still going strong today. From 2006 the befriending project extended their services to provide benefits information and advice.
The day centre is partially funded by Glasgow City Council's Integrated Grant Fund, however, recent funding cuts have forced us to introduce a daily membership fee of £15 which includes lunch. An additional charge is payable for those members who use our bus service and/or wish to participate in our bingo and lottery.
